Worship Alphabet comes from the Bible

“Worship Alphabet” is the title of a book series in which characteristics of God are listed in alphabetical order. You are holding the first of these books, and it is addressed mainly to parents. It is necessary to note that it is not a theological textbook, but my own reflections on God based on biblical texts.

“Alphabetical” worship of God is not my own idea. Such worship was born in
the Bible and its authorship belongs to David. It was he who used creativity in
his worship of God when he wrote a few of his songs (or psalms) following the
alphabet! Psalm 145, for example, is written in such a way that every new line
starts with a new letter of the Hebrew alphabet (this form of poetry is called
an “acrostic”). Partial or complete examples of such worshiping in alphabetical
order can be found in Psalms 9, 10, 25, 34, 37, 111, 112, and also in the famous and the longest of the Psalms, 119, which is written as an acrostic with eight verses given to each letter.
